A reinvented visitor experience: touring the cave with a new application.
A new visitor experience at Grotte Chauvet 2, featuring an immersive application for self-guided exploration of the cave. The tour system is based on an application that allows visitors to wander around the site, punctuated by commentaries. They provide all the keys you need to discover and understand the art created by Homo sapiens 36,0000 years ago.
- The content of this new application has been entirely developed by our mediation department.
- The application will be available in 10 languages.

THE AURIGNACIAN GALLERY, A PLAYFUL APPROACH
This interpretation center lets you discover the life-size Homo sapiens and animals that were present in the Ardèche 36,000 years ago. Discover a humanity close to our own, and some incredible animals: a mammoth, a woolly rhinoceros, a cave lion and a megaceros... ! A fun approach for young and old alike.

Paleolithic camp: "Get out of your cave!
To complete the tour experience, the public can visit the Paleolithic camp. In the shade of the trees, enthusiastic animators invite you to step back in time and immerse yourself in the world of our ancestors.
Two different activities are on offer:
- The "Daily Life" activity, where you can learn all about hunting techniques, food and fire-making.
- Art and Spirituality", to discover the techniques and sculpted objects, ornaments and musical instruments invented by prehistoric societies.
